DXN Roselle Juice
Roselle Juice is specially made from the extract of Roselle calyces. It is rich in vitamin C (potent antioxidant), beta carotene, vitamins B1, B2 and B6 (essential co-enzymes in metabolic process). The calyx from the Roselle flowers is processed to produce juice for drinking. It is very high in Vitamin C (ascorbic acid). Every 100gm of fresh calyx will contains 2.85ug vitamin D, 0.04mg vitamin B1, 0.06mg, 0.06mg vitamin B2, and 0.05mg vitamin B2 Complex. Roselle juice is a refresh drink because of its own Malic acid content. It is riches in Vitamin A, Niacin and Calcium. It acts like natural electrolyte beverage to substitute minerals sweated out while playing sport. It also decreases inflammation of kidney and urinary tract. Scientists found it is good for arteriosclerosis and reduce blood hypertension. Roselle apart from having natural color and taste, the petal (calyx) rich with Vitamin C, Citric Acid (77%) and Malic Acid (22%). The dried petals contain 260-280mg ascorbic acid for each 100g and the vitamin C contains 105.6mg/100ml higher than grapefruit. Roselle contains 3 times more Vitamin C than blackcurrant and 9 times more than citrus fruit. It contains very high Vitamin C compared to other fruits that is 244.4 mg for each 100 gm Roselle fruit compared to 15mg for guava, papaya 71mg, Pamelo (44.8mg), starfruit (25.8mg) and durian (23.3). It's a famine food especially in Sudan. Leaves were eaten green or dry, cooked with onions and ground nuts. Flower calyxes were used for tea and as a base for jam. Seeds were pressed for oil and the remaining cake was cooked seasoned with Kambo, a local condiment.
